Carlos H. Lowenberg Jr.

Founder & CEO

Carlos H. Lowenberg Jr. is the Founder and CEO of the Lowenberg Wealth Management Group. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 1993, Carlos was a founding partner of the Executive Benefits Group, and in 1995, founded the Lowenberg Wealth Management Group, formerly Covenant Wealth Management.

The Lowenberg Wealth Management Group, located in Austin, TX, is a boutique financial services firm that serves entrepreneurial-minded individuals. They help clients add value to their businesses through Business Transition Planning, Key Person Reward and Retention Strategies, and Wealth Preservation. In addition, Mr. Lowenberg has extensive knowledge, insight, and experience in all aspects of Family Wealth Counseling, Charitable Estate Planning, and Wealth Transfer Planning. He also is the creator of the Wealth on Purpose® system and the Social Capital Opportunity™ system.

Mr. Lowenberg has often been the featured speaker at seminars and conferences in the financial services industry and has advised law firms and accounting firms in charitable and estate planning1. He has been a frequent guest on CNBC’s Power Lunch and has been interviewed by Business Week as well. His writings have been published in numerous places including Forbes.com, Investment News, Austin Business Journal, Austin American Statesman, MarketWatch.com, MSN Money, SmartMoney and many more. Mr. Lowenberg’s insights on “Making your charitable donations count – 5 tips in choosing the right charity,” were featured on MarketWatch.com. He is also a contributor to the book entitled Family Wealth Counseling – Getting to the Heart of the Matter by Mr. E.G. “Jay” Link, one of the foremost experts on issues and strategies relating to charitable planning techniques for wealthy families.

Mr. Lowenberg is a member of a number of industry organizations, including: the Association for Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU), National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and The International Forum.

Carlos lives in Austin with his wife, Marianna, three sons and two step daughters. Carlos is also Chairman of the Board of City School Austin and a member of the board of the Austin Lyric Opera.

Scott Kice


Scott Kice joined the Lowenberg Group in 2014. In his current role as COO, Scott’s primary objective is to preserve and maximize wealth for the Lowenberg Group’s investment clients. Scott’s strategic thinking, analytical mind, discipline, and attention to detail are utilized daily in this endeavor.

Additionally, Mr. Kice assists Mr. Lowenberg in several other business areas. For our individual clients, Scott assists in consulting on charitable giving, estate planning, and leveraged life insurance. Scott assists our corporate clients with design and implementation for employee compensation and executive retention plans, as well as advising on qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.

Scott grew up in Wichita, KS but has called Austin home for over ten years. Scott first entered the securities industry in 2004 but also has experience computer programming, actively trading equities, founding and running small businesses, establishing orphan care facilities throughout East Africa, and pursuing cybercrimes cases as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Scott’s diverse experience, as well as his managerial, and organizational skills, are brought to bear in his role as Chief Operating Officer.

Outside the office, Scott enjoys rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, wakesurfing, and riding his motorcycle.

Julie Rompel, RP, CAP-OM

Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, Julie utilizes her over thirty years of administrative and management experience, many of which have been in the wealth management industry, to provide concierge-level services to our clients.

Julie is a licensed Texas Life Agent. Her primary responsibilities include the oversight of client insurance administration and underwriting and long term wealth planning.

Julie is a Registered Financial Paraplanner (RP™), a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP™), a Certified Organizational Manager (OM™) and a Texas Notary. Her astute attention to detail, organizational skills and interpersonal skills are paramount as she manages the daily operations of the company including Human Resources, IT, Budget, Marketing and Communications and Client Services.

Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay area, she has called Texas home for over 30 years.

Julie’s other passions include spending time with her husband and children, interior design, gardening, gourmet cooking, reading, writing and hiking in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Patti Womack-Lee

Assistant to Carlos H. Lowenberg, Jr./Client Relations

Patti comes to the Lowenberg Group with a strong background in sales, customer service and marketing. She loves interacting with our clients and providing superior customer service. When not in the office, Patti loves to spend time with her family, trail running, travelling the world and volunteering with charities, such as Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Patti is passionate about helping those in need and is also involved with charities in El Salvador, India and Rwanda.

William A. Riley

Operations Assistant

William Atlas Riley was born and raised in Chicago. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in May 2016 with a B.S. in Foreign Service. William enjoys providing exceptional service to our clients in his role as Operations Assistant where he performs a myriad of functions supporting Operations, IT, Insurance Administration, Marketing and Client Services.

William brings to the table diverse international experience, from studying in Chile to interning for the US Commerce Department in Australia to volunteering with children in Cambodia and Tanzania. When not providing the highest level of concierge service to the Lowenberg Group’s valued clients, William enjoys downhill skiing, cycling, tennis, playing the saxophone and investing.

Patricia O’Leary

Investments Assistant

Patricia joined the Lowenberg Group in 2016 as an Investment Assistant. She has an Industrial Engineering and Systems degree from Monterrey Tech and a Masters in Business Administration with concentration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Patty has been featured in Hispanic Business Magazine as one of 80 Elite Hispanic Women in the U.S. She brings to The Lowenberg Group her strong analytical skills and many years of banking experience. Patricia is married and has two daughters. Austin has been Patricia’s home for over 20 years. A very active family –she, her husband and their daughters spend most of their afternoons and weekends at sporting events. She recently became a certified soccer referee, manages one of Lake Travis Youth Association’s Select soccer teams and serves on the board of the Austin Women Tennis Association.
